From sherlock20in20, I decided to give myself a challenge and try to make 20 icons of a character who is only in a handful of scenes. So I'm not entirely thrilled, but I hope ya'll like them anyway. And yes, my mind may have been a little disturbed when I decided that using "I Just Can't Wait to be King" as my Mycroft song lyrics.

Oh gosh, I hadn't even thought of that one. I just took a wander through my itunes library, and Lion King jumped out at me. And no matter what else I looked at, nothing made me smile as much as that.

With my usual tact (which still--usually!--beats Sherlock's)...I can't imagine ever using it, so I'm not going to take it, but I ADORE how your second Artist's Choice came out. Absolutely stunning.

(And, I'm still giggling over the lyrics ones. Especially because Mycroft does remind me a bit of some of the Disney villains: just a bit too pompous and controlling for his good. ;-D)

Edited to add that five minutes after I left this comment, I heard Tom Rush's "Cocaine" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FLRF9LKU-iA&feature=BF&list=PLABFC946D942E5A1A&index=5) and thought "Huh, Sarah just did lyrics icons for Mycroft. This song would work for Sherlock!" I think my mind may be even more disturbed than yours! :-D

And, edited again, because I am a moron who forgot to freaking hit "Submit" after she edited this comment! *sighs*

Noooo, don't give me any more ideas! And I'm still trying to come up with a use for that same icon, 'cause I love it, but I don't know when I'd ever use it.

By the way, do you remember when I made my 3000th icon? Was it during MediaWest this year? And if it was, I'm slightly scared to realise that six months later, I've somehow done another thousand. I just hit 4000 the other day.

Also, you have a real knack for contrast / clarity in your icons - I noticed in your other batches too. Maybe I just see so much fuzzy blur effects nowadays but it's a real treat.

I've seen blur used very well in some icons, but sometimes it feels that people simply use it because it's there. And I prefer the icons I use to be pretty sharp, so that tends to be how I make the ones I submit to contests too.
