Howdy folks! I didn't have internet access for the last four and a half days, since I wasn't willing to pay the unbelievable prices at the con hotels.  But I've now shifted into London, and I have net again, yay!  I will have a more in depth post eventually, but it will probably be after I get home on Sunday.

However, the con was AMAZING!!!!!! I am in total love with Matt Rippy (the actor who plays the "real" Captain Jack.) First off, he has the most gorgeous voice. And he's adorable. And he rides a motorcycle. And we got to see him in his leather pants while he was checking out Sunday evening.  *thud*  Okay, sort of coherent now.  Oh yeah, and he kissed Gareth on stage! And I got a picture of it!  And yes, I'm going to leave you hanging with that image in your heads, until I can get my picture uploaded.  I took something like 1500 over two days. Granted, a lot of them suck, I just haven't been able to weed them out yet.  But there are some really nice ones too.

I went exploring London today. Got myself completely lost, multiple times. If I thought the highways in New York were bad, they are nothing compared to trying to navigate London. I think I must have gone in circles (the same circles) 3 or 4 times at one point!

Tomorrow I am going to Cardiff, hopefully with less getting lost. I'm going to find exact directions from the coach station and write them out! No lost for me.

Oh, back to Matt for a moment.  Here's what we decided about him.  He took the Barrowman-line, crossed it, shredded it behind him, circled the Earth, and crossed it again! He's that insane, or rather "men-tul." As apparently, all Americans are. Gareth decided that, and it kind of stuck all weekend.

I know there's more I want to say, but my brain is dead, and I've got to be at the coach station at 7:50am tomorrow, so I need to crash soon. I want at least one night that I get some sleep.

Oh, I know what it was.  They announced the first guests for Hub 3... *drum roll* And the line up includes none other than John Barrowman! Gold tickets were very close to selling out, so if anyone's interested, act fast!

More later, now me needs to sleep, or something!

I'm in London! This is the first time I've been able to find wifi, so here goes the beginning, real quick.  I got to the airport real early, and had to wait around for ages. The flight was fine, the seat next to me was empty, and I had an aisle, so that was pretty sweet! Heathrow went amazingly fast. We landed, I got off the plane, flew through passport control, picked up my luggage, wandered through customs (where no one stopped me), and was on the Tube to Victoria within 20 minutes of landing. It was insane! Got to Victoria fine, had to switch Tube lines in Hammersmith, and then hung around Victoria station until my coach was due.  Of course, I was at Victoria at 8:-- something, and my coach isn't until noon, which it still isn't! But I'm sitting in the coach station waiting now, cause we should be able to board very shortly.

In short, I'm here, everything's fine, I should be in Northampton in a couple of hours!

*bounce bounce bounce*

I'm going to England! After all the waiting, the day has finally arrived! I think I drove work insane yesterday, I was absolutely incapable of sitting still.  But now I have a couple of books, a ton of crossword puzzles, my PDA, iPod, and notebooks, all ready to keep my sane on the flight.

Just gotta shower and pack my bathroom stuff and load the car, and I'll be good to go!  Next time I post (unless I get bored at the airport, and they have wifi), I'll be in England!!!

Home from Comic Con, had an absolutely fantastic time! Eve Myles is adorable, people are crazy (but we knew that already!), and I am exhausted.  I'm going to go crash now, but I'll work on getting my pictures and video uploaded sometime tomorrow!

I need an opinion, sort of. I think I've made up my mind, but I'm going to pretend I haven't and see what happens.  I have the opportunity of going to The Hub 2 in London next year.  I've been looking at the prices, and I can afford the ticket, no problem.  I say "no problem," but what I mean is "it won't absolutely kill me."  I can find people to room with, so the hotel becomes less of an issue.  Its the flight that is causing the problems.  The cheapest I've been able to find is just under $600.  Which is more than I can really pay and still be able to eat.  But, and this is the big part, my mom said that she'd give me $400 towards it for Chanukkah.  $200 suddenly becomes a lot more reasonable.

Okay, now logic-ing things through.  One:  March-this convention.  April-Tribal Forces.  May-MediaWest.  Can I do three conventions in three months?  The answer: probably.  I'll be done with school, and even if I don't have a better paying job yet, I'll be able to work more hours at the one I've got now, and that'll help a ton.  Two: I keep saying that one of these years I'll go to ComicCon or DragonCon, but thinking about it more and more, I don't think that I'll ever be in the right place to handle the kinds of crowds that attend.  Three:  How often does an opportunity like this come up?  Even for just a few days.  Four:  I've gone to conventions by myself before, including ones across the country/out of the country.  Five: England!

So, opinions... anyone?  Its in March, the 13-15th, so it doesn't really interfere with anything else.  Tribal Forces is a month later, and MediaWest a month after that.  Yes, no, maybe, help!?!?

While talking to [livejournal.com profile] eafm at last week's Eastern Media Con, I think I've decided to drive to MediaWest this year, rather than fly. I've spent the last week trying to figure out the logistics of it, including time, gas, tolls, and the possibility of renting a car, rather than putting massive amounts of miles on one of our own.

Lots of numbers )

So, I've talked to [livejournal.com profile] akina16 recently about this, [livejournal.com profile] eafm ... are you still up for it? 'Cause I'm gonna go ahead and get my membership for next year, probably on Monday, when I've gotten my first paycheck from the new job deposited.

I have arrived safely at [livejournal.com profile] easternmediacon , almost an hour and a half earlier than I anticipated! NJ Turnpike had no traffic... How, I have no idea, but no traffic whatsoever.  Anyways, I got here about 8:30 this morning, met up with [livejournal.com profile] mashfanficchick , ate breakfast, went to the art show, panels, the dealers room.

Oh yeah, I bought a bear! I've been toying with getting one of Bearly Spaced bears for the last few years, and this time I actually ordered one.  Its going to be a David Tennant Doctor bear, although now I think I may have to go back and get a Jack bear too. It'll depend on how much I spend the rest of the weekend.

I'm in the lobby now, since there is free internet down here, but not in the rooms.  Anyone needs me, just call my cell phone. I'll be online on and off throughout the weekend.
