Snagged from [livejournal.com profile] maddythevampire

Here be the rules:

* Reply to this post with ICON ME! and I will pick five of your icons.

* Make a post (including this info) and talk about the icons I chose.

* Other people can then comment to you and make their own posts.

* This will create a never ending cycle of icon glee

This one was made by me, after discovering an appreciation for splitting the focus of my icons between the people in them and the scenery. I also did a lot of work with lighting in college, so getting to play with it without having to climb a ladder is always fun.

Another of mine, this was for the crossover category on, I believe it was my first [livejournal.com profile] sherlock20in20. I'd fallen into Sherlock fandom fairly quickly, and in the midst of making Doctor Who icons, this seemed like the perfect merging of the two.

Ah, Sentinel, one of my early fandoms. And, I think, the one that I've been going back to the longest. I'm mostly out of the fandom at this point, but I still adore it. And it was instrumental in introducing me to [livejournal.com profile] mashfanficchick, who's now my best friend/"not-a-spouse". (Yeah, [livejournal.com profile] mashfanficchick, that's what DWNY decided you were to me yesterday!) I also have a major thing for glasses, so yeah.

And early Doctor Who icon that I made, it's grown on me a lot since then. Other people always seemed to like it, and it was one of the first contests I placed in.

This is actually one of my favourite Doctor Who icons. It was a complete accident, and ended up significantly darker than I had wanted. And then I looked at it, and decided I liked it anyway. It's simple, nothing dramatic, but the perfect icon to use when I just need a general DW one.

Ah, White Collar, my brand new shiny fandom. This one was made by [livejournal.com profile] breakthesky89. After [livejournal.com profile] mashfanficchick eventually convinced me to give it a try, I got almost immediately addicted. Despite the fact that I very emphatically did NOT need another fandom, I seem to have one. I can't get enough of it!

This one was for the crossover challenge at [livejournal.com profile] sherlockstills. Stargate is one of my oldest fandoms, and (at the time) Sherlock was my newest one. So what better combination, than to use both of them?! And the idea of Sherlock in the Stargate program is just awesomely disturbing!

This one was made by me for, I believe, [livejournal.com profile] mcshep_icontest. I like to make icons where the crop is in a somewhat unusual place, and I love airplanes, so this is what I ended up with.

Another one of mine, this one was actually a complete accident. I was at a Stargate convention, it must have been about 3am, and I was still awake, screwing around making icons. This was the result. I've tried to recreate the method I used to make it many times since then, completely unsuccessfully.

Doctor Who and Torchwood is one of the few fandoms where I don't just agree with the pairing that everyone else does. While I can and do appreciate Jack/Ianto, my pairing of choice is Jack/Doctor, or Doctor/Ianto, or, as this icon shows, Ianto/Doctor/Jack. Think about it. Wouldn't Ianto make the perfect companion?

Made for a long defunct Magnificent Seven icon contest, this one is of one of my favourite scenes from the show. It also sums up a lot of my days (although I keep forgetting to use the icon), when things just won't be easily black and white.

One of my rare text only icons, this one was for [livejournal.com profile] sherlockstills. My job sucks, and that's all I want to say to the customers some days. "Piss off and leave me alone." I know that's not the meaning of the line in Sherlock, but it works.

A totally accidental icon of the Top Gear boys. I adore the show, I love the guys, and I'd been playing around with some new features in Photoshop. This is actually the third version of this icon, as I kept saving it, uploading it, and deciding to change things. Which I rarely do.

Another one that sums up my life a lot of days. Made by [livejournal.com profile] hobbit_iconses, this is my bad day one.

If I remember correctly, this was the first icon contest I ever won. And when I discovered how much I enjoyed focusing on the background of images, rather than the subject. And also how cool it is to make icons of alien planets, because there aren't any rules dictating how it's supposed to look.
